:: Maintenance ::

  WHEN TO REPLACE HOSES
    Replace your hoses if any of them feel swollen or soft. This usually indicates that the material has started to deteriorate.

  IS THE THERMOSTAT WORKING PROPERLY?

  You can check if your thermostat is working ok by turning on your engine for 10-15 minutes and seeing if you can feel warm coolant running through the upper hose. If you feel the coolant, the thermostat is working fine.

  HOW TO CHECK HOSES
    Check the hoses by turning on the engine and the heater for ten minutes. If the hoses still feel cool, they may be clogged.
    :: Water Pump Failure ::

  COMMON PROBLEM
    If the thermostat is defective it will allow the coolant to aerate. This will cause wear and rusting at three times the normal rate and lower the pump’s efficiency.

  PUMP SEAL PROBLEMS

One cause of your pump seal swelling or cracking is the addition of too little water in the antifreeze water mix.
