Every two years, make sure you
flush your radiator and when replacing the fluids; be sure to use a
proper mixture of antifreeze and water.
How to check hoses
Check the hoses by turning on
the engine and the heater for ten minutes. If the hoses still feel cool,
they may be clogged.
How to check if the thermostat
is working properly
You can check if your
thermostat is working ok by turning on your engine for 10-15 minutes and
seeing if you can feel warm coolant running through the upper hose. If
you feel the coolant, the thermostat is working fine.
:: Water Pump Failure ::
When to replace hoses
Replace your hoses if any of
them feel swollen or soft. This usually indicates that the material has
started to deteriorate.
Pump seal problems
One cause of your pump seal
swelling or cracking is the addition of too little water in the
antifreeze water mix.
