:: How To Choose ::

   EASY TO USE
     Always look at a head unit in a store display and use it for awhile. Try to flip through radio stations and tracks on a CD to see if it is quick and easy. Since many models in the same price range are similar in features and sound quality, usability is often the deciding factor between models.

   MATCHING TIPS

   Another thing that is less important but should be mentioned is the display on the player. Make sure the display matches your dash lights. Some new units are even switchable. It is not a big deal, but it could improve the way your dash appears.

   BETTER BIG
    Look for a unit that has large buttons versus small. Large buttons are easier to find and use. The radio should cause a minimum amount of distraction so the driver can keep his eyes and attention on the road.

   TESTING TIPS
     Try to listen to lots of stations, even the AM frequencies, which will allow you to see the range of frequencies it is capable of picking up.

   TO PREVENT NOISE
   Look at the specs of the unit, such as the THD (Total Harmonic Distortion) and the Signal-to-Noise ratio. For the THD, the lower the percentage, the better. It is said that below .1% is inaudible, but there are units around that show .005%, so just be aware. The signal to noise ratio is shown in DB's (decibels), and the higher the number the better.
