:: Basic ::

   Enough power
     The wire that connects the amplifier and subwoofer should be a proper gauge that can take the power the sub needs.

   Away from each other

   Don't run your large red (power from battery) next to your monster cable (signal cable from pre-amped outputs on radio). Keep them as far as possible because they create static.

   The right model
     If your system utilizes a subwoofer, select a model with a built in low pass crossover and a bass boos circuit. The crossover will filter the sound, so that only bass notes go to the subwoofer, and the bass boom will increase the deep bass impact.
    ::Subwoofers ::

   When there's woofers
     An amplifier that runs sub-woofers or woofers will require more power than one that runs the speakers carrying mids and highs. This is because it takes more energy to move the speaker cone back and forth. With bass sound, the cone can move quite a distance! The high frequency sounds take less energy.
