You should change the oil every
20 hours for the first 100 hours. As it gets older, it needs less
frequent changes as the internal parts bed themselves.
CHANGING OIL FREQUENTLY
Most engine (gasoline and
diesel) manufacturers suggest changing oil every 100 hours. Verify with
your owner's manual for your engine's requirements.
HOW TO CHECK THE OIL PRESSURE
Check the oil’s pressure when
you start the engine and once again when it has warmed up. This is to
make sure it’s up to manufacturer's specs.
:: Electrical ::
TO PREVENT CORROSION
Even copper can corrode in the
marine environment, and that causes electrical failures on a boat. Coat
each strand of the wire with tinning. It’s not expensive and the
benefits are great. It will radically improve corrosion resistance.
BEST LOCATION
Batteries have to be installed
correctly. That means in a clean, dry location that can be reached. If
installed in an inaccessible location, you should consider having them
moved to a better location.
