Never install an outdoor antenna close to a power line or a tree; this eventually becomes a risk.

Choose an outdoor antenna over any indoor antenna; the only matter about the outdoor type of antenna, it must be very securely on the roof, and sometimes this requires help from professionals.

Completely extent the antenna and make sure it keeps well installed, by checking on it periodically. A taller antenna is better, but six to eight feet above the roofline is usually satisfactory.
