:: General tips ::

  Online surfing using a STB
    Use STBs in conjunction with internet service to get more benefits from a Home-Theater system; the only downside is that computer monitors and TV screens have resolutions very different from each other; some content will appear to blurry to be read.

  STBs accept all TV brands

  To enjoy the advantages of STBs, no special attachments are required, and all STBs can be used with all TVs currently available in the market; but remember to use only high quality cables to connect the STB to other components.

  Why are STBs popular
    High-Definition technology is still in developing steps, and new features and services appear often; if possible, choose a High-Definition TV with separated HD tuner. Choose then a STB with all the connections and features desired.

  STB Energy Star compliant units
    When choosing a STB, consider getting one that is Energy Star compliant. STBs keep on working and using energy even when they are turned off; STBs are constantly updating programming and other data needed for their performance.

  Use of Parental Control
  To prevent kids from getting access to Adult-only programming, use the Parental Control feature; this helps restricting TV access to minors. If this feature is used, remember to change the access code once in a while.
