Help extend the battery's power
length |
| |
|
When running only on batteries,
laptops consume most of the energy on the screen; lowering the screen
brightness will extend the battery’s stored energy. |
 |

 |
|
 |
|
Set the laptop screen's angle
and settings |
|
|
|
Tilt the screen of the laptop
to locate the correct viewing angle; as well, many laptops when they
start, the screen is at its brightest setting. Lowering the screen
brightness and finding the right screen angle, decreases eye strain. |

Second monitors help work
faster |
| |
|
A second monitor (external)
helps to work faster and produce more; when connecting an external
monitor to a laptop, make sure the monitor’s screen is at eye level or a
bit lower when in a sitting position. |

Avoid reflections on the screen |
| |
|
Place the laptop in an area
that is well lit, but without reflections from the outside light to
avoid glare on the screen. Use light that hits indirectly on the
keyboard and surrounding areas. This helps viewing the screen more
comfortably. |

Use the tilt stands to keep
laptops cooler |
| |
 |
Laptops get pretty hot after
some use, therefore, to help them stay cooler, flip open the tilt stands
that are usually installed at the bottom of the laptop. Those tilt
stands are used to raise the laptop ½ an inch of the ground, allowing
air to circulate under the laptop. |
