  Verify the voltage before plugging components
    Before connecting the receiver for the first time, verify that the voltage in the outlet where the receiver will be connected is the same voltage amount required for the correct operation of the system. Do not connect at all if it is not the same voltage.

  Be careful when handling remote controls; dropping a remote control can damage its fragile circuit board and be especially careful with DVD remotes; Universal remotes often can not operate the full functionality of the original remote.

  To adjust the acoustics in a room easily
    To boost the bass effect of the sound in a room, place the front speakers on the floor close to the corners of the room; but if bass sounds boomy, do the opposite thing and move the speakers away from the corners of the room or raise the speakers off the floor an inch.

    One of the best ways to protect Home Theater investment is to guard it against sudden voltage changes; connect all audio/video gear to surge protectors thus avoiding undesired damage on a receiver or any other equipment.

  Use double shielded wire for long connections
  To avoid audio signals from loosing quality, use only the amount of speaker wire needed and do not leave any extra on the floor; if there has to be a connection using more than 6 feet of wire, use double shielded wire instead.
