Before connecting the receiver
for the first time, verify that the voltage in the outlet where the
receiver will be connected is the same voltage amount required for the
correct operation of the system. Do not connect at all if it is not the
same voltage.
Have special care with DVD
player remote controls
Be careful when handling remote
controls; dropping a remote control can damage its fragile circuit board
and be especially careful with DVD remotes; Universal remotes often can
not operate the full functionality of the original remote.
To adjust the acoustics in a
room easily
To boost the bass effect of the
sound in a room, place the front speakers on the floor close to the
corners of the room; but if bass sounds boomy, do the opposite thing and
move the speakers away from the corners of the room or raise the
speakers off the floor an inch.

Use surge protectors to protect
a Home Theater system
One of the best ways to protect
Home Theater investment is to guard it against sudden voltage changes;
connect all audio/video gear to surge protectors thus avoiding undesired
damage on a receiver or any other equipment.
Use double shielded wire for
long connections
To avoid audio signals from
loosing quality, use only the amount of speaker wire needed and do not
leave any extra on the floor; if there has to be a connection using more
than 6 feet of wire, use double shielded wire instead.
