f you need to scan an
image out of a magazine with writing on the back, put a dark piece of
paper behind it. This will prevent residual text from scanning over the
image.
A rule to follow
The rule of thumb with scanning
is to set the scan resolution to at least three times the desired print
resolution. If you are going to enlarge the image when printing, set the
dpi even higher.
For more detailed
For basic scanning a 16-bit
color mode will do the job. If you have more detailed scans change the
setting to 24-bit or 32-bit.
Do your research
When deciding between a USB or
firewire scanner, go for the USB. The firewire is more expensive and
unless you are scanning large amounts of material, you probably don’t
need it.
