MPEG-2.
Movie Picture Experts Group. A
video compression standard; it was designed for digital broadcastings,
DVD movies, and DBS. An adaptive technology based on bits and it assigns
a larger amount of said bits to complex parts of a movie that has a lot
of activity and movement on the screen, as in when a subject is part of
a highly active scene in a movie and moves too much around the framed
screen; this technology uses less bits for scenes where there is not
much movement onscreen.
