   Master Boot Record (MBR).
     A hard disk sector that starts the process of booting a computer system; The MBR includes a partition table used for the hard disk and an undersized quantity of executable code, which is known as the Master Boot Code.

   Megabyte.

 

   A acronym for MB; 1,048,576 bytes; MBs are often mentioned like if they were 1 million bytes. Also, an important term to search is gigabyte.

   Megachanger.
     A DVD or CD component that stores massive amounts of discs; this term is applied to changers that hold within more than 50 discs.

 MHz.
     It can be expressed megahertz or 1 million Hz.

   Microwave.
     A point to point transmission signal based on high frequencies.

   MPEG-2.
 Movie Picture Experts Group. A video compression standard; it was designed for digital broadcastings, DVD movies, and DBS. An adaptive technology based on bits and it assigns a larger amount of said bits to complex parts of a movie that has a lot of activity and movement on the screen, as in when a subject is part of a highly active scene in a movie and moves too much around the framed screen; this technology uses less bits for scenes where there is not much movement onscreen.
