  RAID.
    Redundant Array of Independent Disks; formerly called Redundant Array of Inexpensive Disks. A storing format used for storing server configurations.

  RAM.

 

  Acronym for Random Access Memory. A memory type based in semiconductors; this memory can be read and overwritten by the CPU or other hardware piece of equipment. RAM memory can be accessed quickly and straight to the point.

  RCA jack.
    A common type of connection in audio and video equipment; RCA connection is used for transmitting composite video, audio and component video.

Rear projection TV.
    A display which works by employing three CRT tubes; this tubes are installed inside the TV case and the image is projected off a mirror and displayed on top of the screen.

  Resolution.
    The concentration of dots all together to form an image onscreen; it is measured as dots per inch on the screen; known also as DPI, dots per inch affect in the quality of the image on a display; high resolution monitors have a smoother, sharper picture than low resolution displays do.

  Rich media.
 It is used as an advertising term in the web; a webpage in which high quality graphics as well as streaming video are displayed; this type of media includes audio only as well. Technology used to bring interactivity with the end viewer people.
