Zinc is crucial to the
synthesis of DNA and RNA, of proteins, insulin, and sperm. The body
needs it to metabolize carbohydrates, fats, protein, and alcohol; to
dispose of carbon dioxide; and for proper use of vitamin A. Over seventy
different enzymes need zinc to do its work. It also boosts the immune
system making scars heal faster. It allows the body tissues to grow, and
helps develop fetuses and the growth of children. It sharpens the
palate.
Zinc Chloride
"Butter of Zinc”. It’s a
complex sometimes used in escharotic
skin creams salves treating skin cancer and other dermal/epidermal
conditions. Zinc chloride absorbs the herbal nutrients active
ingredients through the skin’s layer and into the bloodstream.
Zinc Oxide
White powder found in skin
ointments because of its ultraviolet protection and diaper rash
treatment. It also has cleansing properties.
Zinc Pyrithione
An active ingredient in dandruff shampoos. It’s a cytotoxic and antifungal. It can have side
effects and is not approved by the FDA.
