Always warm up before you
start your stretches. This will prevent your body from getting injured.
You should complete at least 5 minutes of aerobic exercise.
Flex it further
Remember not to bounce when
you stretch. Stay in a fixed position. After 10 or 20 seconds you should
feel comfortable in that stretch. Push your muscle a little further.
With time your flexibility will be better, and you’ll be less prone to
injury.
Prevent injuries
Stretching increases
flexibility thus making you less prone to injuries. The explanation for
this is that a muscle/tendon group with a bigger range of motion
passively, will experience tears less when used actively
:: Stretching ::
Stretch the right way
Begin stretching your neck and
finish at the feet. This will enable you to get flexibility from the
previously stretched muscles.
Stretch gradually
Trying to gain
flexibility should be done progressively. It should also be maintained
to prevent slipping back into inflexibility.
