There are two types of
carbohydrates: complex and simple. Complex carbs give you sustained
energy, while simple carbs give you immediate energy.
No more simple carbs!
Specialists do not recommend
ingesting simple carbs throughout the day. They are released into the
bloodstream too fast and if the body does not need them at that specific
time, insulin will help to store them as fat.
What kind should you eat?
Every day’s diet must include
mainly complex carbs, as they are responsible for creating consistent
energy levels for peak performance on daily functions.
:: Carbohydrates Tips ::
When you are done
20 or 30 minutes after you
finish working out, eat simple carbs. This is when our body needs them
in order to replenish its glycogen levels immediately. Simple carbs will
help to speed up the recuperation time and give support to the
production of lean muscle tissue.
Carbohydrates content
You should verify the
carbohydrate content. If you’re on a high protein/low carb diet, you’ll
surpass the allowed daily intake with a high carb bar. You’ll find bars
with as few as 3 grams of carbohydrate, and some with as much as 40
grams.
