::Pre-Swimming  ::

  Stretch
    As with any sport, be sure to properly stretch your body before swimming. It avoids injury and cramps, which usually happen wile swimming in cooler water.

  Eating

 

  Swimming is not recommended on a full stomach. You should wait for the body to digest properly. Since the body is at "work" when digesting food, strenuous exercise and the change in body temperature could prove very harmful.

  Equipment
    Goggles are necessary for sport swimming. They protect the eyes from exposure to chorine and impurities that can exist in the water, not to mention they let you see.

  Surfing
  Swimming skills are vital to the surfer, but keep in mind that fatigue plays a big factor. If your going to try surfing, start small and work your way up, you'll increase your skill as well as your stamina while avoiding possible injury.
