Footwear is the most important
piece of equipment you will wear in soccer. Your cleats help you move
around on the field, they protect your feet if you get kicked or stepped
on and they help you power the ball through the
other team's goal.
LIGHTER CLEATS FOR SPEED
The lighter the
soccer cleat,
the better. Lighter soccer cleats allow you to run faster and tire out
less than with heavier shoes.
SHIN GUARDS FOR CALF
PROTECTION
Be sure that your shin guards
are wide enough to protect the sides of your calves. They should fit to
about two inches below the knee to just above the bend in the ankle.

MAINTAINS GOOD FIELD CONDITION
Take good care of your playing
field. Make sure all debris is removed from the playing field, that all
bare spots are reseeded and that holes are filled.
Shoes with screw-in cleats
often are associated with a higher risk of injury, however they provide
more traction on wet fields or in high grass. Shoes with molded cleats
or ribbed soles should be worn when possible.
