Avoid wearing helmets on the
back of the head, even if you can eliminate slack and form a "Y" around
the ears. Helmets worn on the back of the head are more prone to come
off and leave the forehead exposed.
BUCKLE CHIN STRAPS OVER THE

Using the instructions, make
sure your chinstrap is connected properly and securely snug against your
throat. This will make sure that your helmet does not come off at
high-impact.

You can tell that a helmet
fits correctly, when it sits squarely on the head, with the front of the
helmet protecting the forehead by sitting low on the brow.

PANTS
Try buying bicycle pants.
Regular pants may constrict your thighs (which expand when you ride);
they can make you uncomfortable by chafing the inside of your thighs
where they rub against the saddle, especially if they are loose-fitting
pants that can bun
CHECK WAIST AND LEG HOLE SIZES
Ensure that shorts fit tightly
and securely, but don't constrict the waist or thighs. If you feel
constricted, the leg holes may be too small.
