   HOCKEY SKATES SHOULD FIT TIGHT
     For more stability and less abrasion when skating, hockey skates need to be tight.

   BUYING KID'S SKATES

 

   Avoid trying to save money by buying children skates they can grow into. This can affect their ability to skate and could injure their feet and ankles.

   FITTING SHIN PADS
     Measure the distance from the knee cap (patella) to the top of the foot to determine the proper shin pad length.

   SELECTING PROPER PANTS
     Pants should cover the top of the shin pads, but fall just above kneecap level.

   PANTS SHOULD PROTECT THORACIC CAGE
   To protect kidneys, lower back, and floating ribs, make sure your pants cover the thoracic cage.
