 Balance
  The maintenance of equilibrium.

Ballistic Movement

 

The name given to a bouncing movement performed in an attempt to stretch a muscle. This type of movement is not recommended for most individuals. The preferred method is static.

 Barbell
  The name given to a bar, usually around 3' long (91cm) with ends at both sides. Plates (weights) are often placed on the ends. Barbells are usually gripped with both hands.

Basal Metabolic Rate
  The minimal rate at which the body burns calories (at rest) to maintain life. The BMR is usually measured early in the day, directly after the patient has had a good night's rest, by exercise physiologists

Bench
 A piece of gym equipment designed to be sat upon or lain upon while performing an exercise and featuring a horizontal or mostly horizontal top surface.
Bicep
The muscle running along the inside of the upper arm which bends your arm at the elbow.
Blood pressure
The pressure exerted by the blood on the walls of the arteries measured in millimeters of mercury.
Bodybuilder
A bodybuilder is an individual whom builds a better body through weight training, good nutrition, and sometimes, supplements and pharmaceuticals. Bodybuilders take care of their bodies and the way they look and feel, both physically and mentally.
Body composition
The proportions of fat, muscle, and bone making up the body. This figure is usually expressed as percent of body fat and percent of lean body mass (LBM).
Bulking up
Slang for gaining weight by adding both fat and muscle, by eating large amounts, while training as hard as possible.
