 Failure
  When your muscles will not allow you to finish another rep, while maintaining good form. For the best workout results, your final rep should be difficult.

Fats

 

Composed of carbon, hydrogen and oxygen, fat is one of the three basic nutrients. Fats are typically broken down into good and bad fats. Good fats include essential fatty acids and dietary fats. These are the monounsaturated and polyunsaturated fats, for example: olive oil, canola oil. Typical bad saturated fats are found in beef, pork, poultry fat, butter, cream, milk, cheeses and other dairy products made from whole milk.

 Fatty Acids
  When performing steady aerobic exercise and low-level activity, the body typically uses fatty acids. Your body uses the acids for ATP production in muscle tissue during recovery glycogen replenishment.

Fiber
  Fiber provides no calories, as it is indigestible, however, it offers significant health benefits as a component of the diet. It is chemically classified as carbohydrates (and may be included in the total carbohydrate content listed on food labels), found primarily in unprocessed vegetables, nuts, grains and fruits.

Flat
Caused by over training, under training or a lack of nutrients and water, the term describes muscles that have lost their fullness.
Flexion
When a joint functions resulting in a decrease in the angle formed by the levers involved.
Flexibility
The range of motion around a joint. This can be increased with stretching and yoga.
Flush
To increase the blood supply to a muscle, thereby bringing in more nutrients.
Forced Rep
Performing repetitions of an exercise beyond concentric failure with the assistance of spotter.
Free Weight
Weight that is free to move in any direction and manner that the lifter wishes. Free weight equipment is moved in the performance of an exercise, which is simply raised and lowered as a complete unit.
