  BE REACHABLE
Always leave a copy of your itinerary or phone number with family and friends back home. This way you can easily be reached in case of emergency.

  DOUBLE CHECK

Be sure to check with your insurance company to determine the extent and limits of the coverage you have while abroad. If not, consider taking out additional insurance. Make sure you are covered for repatriation, medical evacuation, and medical treatment.

  USEFUL LIST
Always carry a wallet card stating any medical conditions you may have. List allergies to specific medications and/or food allergies.

  A RULE
Use elevators rather than stairwells. Stand near the control panel so if threatened, you can push the alarm button.

  IN CASE OF EMERGENCY
Make yourself a list of credit cards numbers. Leave a couple of copies back home, and travel with one on you. You should also keep the phone number of the embassy and consulate that’s in the country of where you’re traveling.
