:: Communications ::

   Reachable
     Most cruise ships have telephones and voice mail in each cabin. Those without individual phones will have message centers, so you can be reached in case of an emergency.

   Talking with the world

   On some ships you can make calls from your own cellular phone. If it's important for you to be easily accessible by phone, ask your local cellular dealer for details about cell phones with a "roam" feature.

   Very expensive
     Before making telephone calls from the ship, find out how much it will cost. Sometimes a call may cost up to $10.00 per minute!

   Business trip?
     Presently many ships have "Business Conference Centers and Computer Labs. Internet access and e-mail capabilities are being added regularly to the ships. The cruise line brochure will have that information.

   Someone must know
   A number (for the ships satellite communications telephone) will be provided in the information pack you receive from the cruise line when you book. This number should be left with someone at home to contact you with in the case of an emergency.
