Banks are generally open
weekdays 9:00am to 1:30pm. In larger cities, most are open until 5:30pm
or 6:00pm. Some larger banks keep a few branches open Saturday 9:00am to
2:30pm and Sunday 10:00am to 1:30pm.

than most banks and they generally offer quicker service.
LOOK FOR MORE OPTIONS
Less favorable rates can be
found at exchange booths in airports or rail or bus stations, hotels,
restaurants, or in stores, though their hours are more convenient.

CASH COULD BE BETTER
One travel checks disadvantage
is that you get lower exchange rates than if you use a credit card or
ATM card. There is a transaction fee involved.
PLASTIC IS CONVENIENT
Traveler's checks and major
U.S. credit cards are widely accepted in Mexico. The large hotels,
restaurants, and department stores accept cards readily. Smaller, less
expensive restaurants and shops will only take cash.
