In Japan, department stores
open from 9:00 or 10:00am to 6:00 or 7:00pm six days a week. There’s
typically one day where they close, however each decides it for
themselves and so there not always the same. |

Small Japanese post offices are
open Monday to Friday from 9.00 to 17.00 and are closed on Saturdays,
Sundays and national holidays national holidays. Larger offices are also
open on Saturdays and some even on Sundays, and they are longer open on

Stores close on one weekday,
the day is not specific, and it depends on the store itself. Some close
on Sunday too, and in national holidays. Don’t forget, department stores
close around an hour before other shops, most likely at about 7:00pm. |

HANDY PASSPORT |

Make sure to always have your
passport on hand when shopping at "Tax-Free" stores. They usually have a
sign displaying that they offer that service. The stores clerks fill out
paperwork that they add in your passport. At your departure, it is
collected from you. |
