Major banks are open from
9:00am to 4:30pm Monday to Friday, and 9:00am to 12:30pm on Saturday.
They close on Sundays and public holidays. Some banks and branches are
open slightly longer hours. Some banking services are not available an
hour before closing.
OFFICE HOURS
Working days are from Monday to
Friday. Banks, offices, government departments and public security
bureaus open 08:30 to 18:00, with a lunch break from noon to 14:00.
MAIL FROM THE HOTEL
The International mail is well
organized. You’ll find postal services at hotels. Popular hotels have
mailboxes and sell stamps for letters, post cards and parcels.

BE SURE
There aren’t many ATMs that
accept foreign cards. Don’t count on them as your only source of getting
money in China. Prepare yourself before hand and figure out what would
be the best way for you to get money.
HAVE SOME PLASTIC
Usually, you can pay with
credit cards at major department stores, friendship stores, restaurants
and major tourist hotels. Remember, there’s a 2% surcharge on every
transaction.
